Maia [may • ah] is a multidisciplinary early career composer working across theatre & film. At 23, she has won awards, released multiple albums and produced various highly-acclaimed theatre projects.

Their practice interweaves composition, field recording, sound design, session recordings and live performance, with a strong emphasis on devising, creative collaboration and improvisation.

Maia is an Associate Artist at Brave Mirror Productions, an exciting emerging theatre company with a focus on platforming other early-career artists in London and Bristol. Read more about Brave Mirror >> here <<

She is also an animator and videographer. They have worked as a sound recordist, sound designer, music editor, line editor, and production assistant across various high-budget productions. Their work on climate communications has been shown at various conferences including UNGA, COP26 and COP27.

Hailing from Bristol, UK, Maia works across much of England and Scotland. They are currently based in Glasgow.
